Our established public accounting firm in Americus, Georgia is looking for a motivated Accounting Assistant to join our team on either a part-time or full-time basis. This role is perfect for individuals who are eager to grow in the accounting field and work closely with experienced CPAs in a supportive, flexible environment.
Job Requirements
As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a key role in managing bookkeeping and payroll functions for a diverse client base. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, reconciling bank and credit card statements, and assisting with day-to-day accounting operations using cloud-based accounting software. You ll also interact directly with clients and partners, providing professional communication and support to ensure smooth, efficient service.
We are seeking candidates with a background in business or accounting. A bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred, though we will consider applicants with an associate degree. Previous experience with bookkeeping and payroll is a plus, and familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel is highly desirable. Training will be provided on firm-specific platforms as needed. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong time management skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
This position offers a flexible schedule with the option to work part-time (minimum 20 hours per week) or full-time, depending on your availability and the firm s needs. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. You ll also benefit from mentorship by two seasoned partners with over 50 years of combined experience in public accounting, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
