Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to serve as our Operations Director. This key leadership role is responsible for managing all aspects of the organization s operations, including staff supervision, financial oversight, daily workflow management, fundraising, and community engagement. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with exceptional leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Job Requirements

The Operations Director will oversee all staffing activities, including recruitment, hiring, training, and performance evaluations. This individual will supervise staff, assign responsibilities, create schedules, and address personnel matters such as disciplinary actions and terminations in coordination with the Board of Directors.
In managing daily operations, the Director will ensure the organization functions efficiently and effectively. This includes overseeing procurement, inventory management, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment. The Director will also provide coverage and operational support during staff absences.
The position requires the ability to work in environments that may include noise, dust, or varying temperatures. The Director must be comfortable standing for long periods and performing occasional physical tasks such as bending, stooping, or climbing to inspect facilities or equipment. The role also involves managing the emotional challenges that may accompany high-stress or sensitive situations and may require working outdoors or in all types of weather conditions.
Financial management is a key component of this position. The Operations Director will prepare and process financial documents, deposits, and invoices, as well as generate reports using software such as QuickBooks and Square. They will oversee payroll in coordination with the organization s accountant, maintain accurate Profit & Loss statements and balance sheets, and prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors. The Director will also take the lead in writing and managing grant proposals and other funding applications.
The Director will be responsible for planning and executing fundraising events, developing promotional materials, and collaborating with the fundraising committee to create new initiatives that engage the community. Additional responsibilities include maintaining and updating social media platforms, preparing newsletters, and coordinating staff and volunteers for various events.
In partnership with the Board of Directors, the Operations Director will attend bi-monthly meetings, prepare agendas and reports, and serve as the primary point of contact for all Board communications. The Director will also prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reports as required.

Education and Experience
The position requires a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role. Candidates should have at least one to two years of proven staff management experience and three years of supervisory or management experience in a related field. A high school diploma or GED is required, and an associate s degree or higher in business administration, nonprofit management, or a related discipline is strongly preferred. Candidates must possess a valid driver s license and dependable transportation.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a proven record of leadership and management, preferably in a nonprofit or service-oriented organization. Strong financial literacy, including experience with QuickBooks, payroll, and grant writing, is essential. The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to meet the physical and mental demands of a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, is also required.
