PIT OPERATOR/TEAM LEAD
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Pit Operator/Team Lead to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating powered industrial trucks (PITs) such as forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks, while also leading a team of warehouse associates to meet daily productivity and safety goals. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines technical expertise with strong team management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate a variety of PIT equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks) to move, load, and unload materials.
Lead, coach, and motivate a team of warehouse associates to achieve daily operational goals.
Monitor workflow, delegate tasks, and provide real-time support to ensure productivity and efficiency.
Maintain accurate inventory records and perform cycle counts as needed.
Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, email, scanning systems).
Enforce and promote safety protocols, including OSHA compliance and equipment checks.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Train new team members on equipment operation, safety practices, and company procedures.
Troubleshoot issues and escalate operational concerns to leadership as necessary.

Minimum 2 years of forklift/PIT operation experience in a warehouse or distribution center (verifiable).
Proven leadership experience, preferably in a warehouse or logistics setting.
Strong working knowledge of computer systems and warehouse software (WMS, Excel, email, scanners).
Ability to work independently while managing a team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
OSHA certification or willingness to obtain one is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent.
